First Kiss

He walks up to me
Asking for a hug
I hide in my coat,
He responds with a shrug.
Then, we sit, and he turns to me
Asking about my day.
I tell him, and it went on from there
Until there was nothing to say.

I look at the floor,
He looks at the sky.
He asks about kissing
And I don't reply.
So he grabs my hand
And we walk around
We talk about random things
While I stare at the ground
(You never realize how fascinating
The subway platform is
Until you're faced with the
Uncomfortable silence right before
A teenager's first kiss.)
